Dear Daughter

I'm writing the words i wish to tell you someday the words many little girls never get to heard from their fathers, not because they didn't want to but because they don't know how to do so. Before i forget or before its too late let me express to you what you mean to me in this world.

Everything, you mean to me what the moon and the sun mean to this planet
you are my gravitational field, the earth without the moon is like a bird without its wings, lost.
you give me purpose to fly, your smile is my wings, your tears my strengh and your joy my weakness.

You make me crumble with worry of the world you'll be growing up in, something i can't control once you let go of my hands, put away your favorite blankie, throw away your favorite toys or stop calling me daddy.

One thing i want you to know is, no matter where in the world you end up, you will always be my little girl. the tools we embedded in you as a child is the the same tools that will propel you to adulthood.

Never forget how beautiful you are, and never let any man tell you different. a man that doesn't see your heart before your beauty is a man trapped out of love.

Never forget your roots, where you come from is the foundation of your essences just like your black nappy hair a symbol of beauty your beautiful black skin is a symbol of a monarchy passed down from generations to generations.

I fear the world that you will be growing up in but i trust that the little girl before me will make a great woman. So let me hold on to you a little closer, kiss you a little longer and tell you that i love you more often, because i don't know when or if I'll get say those words to you but until then I'm writing this letter to show you what you will mean to me in this world.
