Struggles

i can feel the struggles screaming out 

of her like a facial expression her

mask like persona underneath 

a painful smile of pride.

the woman with heart of gold learning

to excuse her everyday problems to cut

off whatever she has left within her,

to feed the dreams of her children.

in-spite the mind set carved within her

by the lifestyle of a third country.
